August 12 - Berkeley Weekday Senior Men's Championship
The results were as follows:
Harvey Gammon – Net 70 (won on a countback starting with hole #7),
Paul White – Net 70. John Cahill – Net 71, Ed Odmark – Net 74, Bob Beebe – Net 74,
In the Super Senior Division, Ron Donat – Net 75, Jim Andersen – Net 78
Close up on Hole Number 8 and Hole # 14 - George Cothren won them both.
September 2 & 3 - Berkeley Seniors Ringer Tournament.
This unique tournament allows competitors to play a second round and improve any hole score from the first
round to come up with a total best score. Registration will begin mid August.
September 10-12 - Berkeley Hills Annual Member/Guest
Registration to open August 1.
North Atlanta Senior Men’s Golf Association – 2020 Schedule of Tournaments
Cancels all Tournaments for 2020 - Play days are scheduled.
All of the 8 scheduled tournaments for 2020 have been cancelled to comply with government retrictions
related to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The last 3 events on the NASMGA schedule included Crooked Creek,
Country Club of Roswell and Windemere. None of the clubs are equipped to handle 90-100 golfers while
still maintaining social distancing, individual carts, meals and have the appropriate number of staff to pull
these events off.
NASMGA Play Days.
The results were as follows: A number of clubs have offered to host a limited number of golfers on their course.
If you wish to play in any of these Play Day events, you must be a member of the Berkeley Senior Men’s Golf Association. Future events include Woodmont CC on Monday 9/21, White Columns CC on Wednesday 10/14 and Big Canoe on Monday 10/26. The cost and number of players will vary.
The NASMGA Match Play schedule for 2020 is detailed on the website. Eighteen clubs
will participate in 3 divisions of 6 teams each. Berkeley is in the Masters Division with Polo, Brookfield,
Olde Atlanta, Fairways of Canton and Indian Hills. Berkeley was scheduled to play its first match against
Polo Golf and Country Club on April 15. That match has been cancelled and rescheduled for a date in
September. The next match in May against Olde Atlanta has been cancelled. The schedule has been shortened
to 4 matches, two home and two away Dates are as follows:
June 19 Berkeley at Fairways of Canton - WON by BHCC 10 - 8
July 15 Indian Hills at Berkeley - LOST by BHCC 7.5 - 10.5
August 5 Brookfield at Berkeley - WON by BHCC 15 - 3
September 16 Berkeley at Polo
Once the reduced schedule has been completed, 8 teams will qualify for the playoffs. Teams finishing first and second in the three divisions qualify and two third place teams scoring the most points will qualify as wildcards.
